Sliding Roof does not Move by Operating Sliding Roof Control Switch

DESCRIPTION

The sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly (sliding roof ECU) receives switch slide and tilt signals and drives its built-in motor.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE: When the sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly (sliding roof ECU) is reinstalled or replaced, the sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly must be initialized Initialization.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SLIDING ROOF OPERATION)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Sliding Roof / Active Test.
(e) Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

Sliding Roof

OK:
Sliding roof operates normally.
NG -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF ECU)
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Sliding Roof / Data List.
(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

Sliding Roof

NG -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF ECU)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT FUSE
(a) Remove the S/ROOF and ECU-IG LH fuses from cowl side junction block LH.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF ECU - BATTERY, BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the R6 ECU connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF ECU - LH-IG2 RELAY)

(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - LH-IG2 RELAY)
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF ECU - SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the R5 switch connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
(a) Remove the map light assembly (sliding roof switch assembly) Removal.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF ECU)
8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - LH-IG2 RELAY)

(a) Disconnect the R5 switch connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF ECU - SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
