SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
HINT: Refer to the procedures up to "REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY" Removal.

3. REMOVE SIDE NO. 1 DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT Disassembly

4. REMOVE NO. 1 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT Disassembly

5. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY






(a) Disconnect the 2 connectors and remove the instrument panel wire assembly from the front passenger airbag.
NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.





(b) Remove the 2 screws.






(c) Disengage the 5 hooks (A).
(d) Disengage the 5 hooks (B) and remove the front passenger airbag from the instrument panel.
