This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
- TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.
- TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.
- Many of the TAS procedures will have the installation information within the removal steps.

Removal and Installation

General Equipment
Powertrain Jack

Removal

WARNING: Refer to: Petrol and Petrol-Ethanol Fuel Systems Health and Safety Precautions.

1. WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.

Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Refer to: Wheel and Tire.
3. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect.
4. Refer to: Driveshaft - 5.0L.







5. Torque: 10 Nm

6. WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.

- NOTE: The fuel tank has a non-return valve in the fuel filler stub pipe, only the fuel present in the filler hose will be spilt.







7. Using the special tool, press and hold the brake pedal.







8. WARNING: If the fluid is spilled on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.

CAUTION: Make sure that a new sealing washer is installed.

Torque: 35 Nm

9. WARNING: Make sure the axle assembly is supported.

Torque:
M10 40 Nm
M12 133 Nm










10. WARNING: Install the M12 subframe bolts prior to removing axle support.

Torque: 133 Nm

13. WARNING: Make Sure the axle assembly is supported.

CAUTION: Make sure that new bolts are installed.

General Equipment: Powertrain Jack

Torque:
Stage 1: 60 Nm
Stage 2: 240°

Installation
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

3. Refer to: Rear Toe Adjustment.
