AA2: Check IAT 2 Sensor Range

NOTE: Use a refrigerator, freezer or freeze spray so that the operation of the sensor can be checked at temperatures below the ambient test temperature.







Ignition switch to position 0
Disconnect PI003

Below air intake

Measure the resistance between sensor pins 1 and 2; Refer to 'Air Temperature Sensor.' Testing and Inspection

- Relationship OK?
Yes
GO to AA3 AA3: Check Continuity Harness
No
Remove sensor and check for correct temperature/resistance relationship at ambient temperature.
Repeat checks for at least 3 different temperatures. Renew as necessary and test the system for normal operation.
