Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
1.Remove trunk finisher front. Trunk Finisher Front.
2.Remove battery vent tube (1).
3.Remove 12V battery cover. Removal and Installation.
4.Disconnect the 12V battery cable from the negative terminal.
CAUTION:
To prevent damage to the parts, disconnect the 12V battery cable from the negative terminal first.
5.Remove cover of 12V battery positive terminal.
6.Disconnect the 12V battery cable from the positive terminal.
7.Remove battery fix frame mounting nut and bolt to remove battery fix frame.
8.Remove 12V battery.
INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
To install the 12V battery, carefully read the following instructions.
- If an exhaust cap is not included in the replaced 12V battery, install an exhaust cap (3) to the exhaust hole (2) on the negative terminal (1) side to prevent gas leakage in the vehicle.
- To prevent gas leakage in vehicle, securely install the battery vent tube to the 12V battery.
- After removing the battery vent tube from the vehicle, reinstall the battery vent tube securely to the exhaust port on the vehicle side (body member) to discharge gas filled in the 12V battery to the outside of the vehicle.
- To prevent damage to the parts, connect the 12V battery cable to the positive terminal first.
- After connecting 12V battery cables, to securely supply 12V
battery voltage, ensure that they are tightly clamped to 12V battery terminals for good contact.
- To securely supply 12V battery voltage, check 12V battery terminal for poor connection caused by corrosion.
Reset electronic systems as necessary. Additional Service When Removing Battery Negative Terminal.
