Symptom 5: Chime Does Not Sound
The chime may not sound occasionally in the following cases even if the distance from the vehicle ahead is short:
- When the speed difference from that of the vehicle ahead is small (both vehicles driving at similar speed).
- When the vehicle ahead drives at faster speed (the actual distance is increasing).
- When depressing the accelerator pedal.
- Chime does not sound when the vehicle is not driving.
- Chime does not sound when the system does not detect any vehicle ahead. (Diagnose the conditions under which the system is detecting the vehicle ahead and when the system is malfunctioning. If there is any malfunction in detecting the vehicle ahead, check the system following the ACS-66, "Symptom 7: ICC System Frequently Cannot Detect the Vehicle Ahead/ Detection Zone Is Short" ).
