1. Clean the CVTF cooler CVTF Cooler Cleaning.

2. Remove the used grease in the flywheel hub cap (A) and the flywheel splines (B).

3. Fill the inside of the flywheel hub cap with about 1.0-2.0 g (0.04-0.07 oz.) of Super High Temp Urea Grease (P/N 08798-9002), and coat the flywheel had splines. Do not overfill the flywheel hub cap with grease.

4. Install a new rubber sealing ring (A) on the input shaft (B).

5. Install the flywheel (C) on the input shaft, and install the two dowel pins (D) in the flywheel housing.

6. Place the transmission on a jack, and raise the transmission to the engine level, then fit the transmission to the engine/IMA motor.

7. Install the rear and lower transmission housing mounting bolts.

8. Install the upper and front transmission housing mounting bolts (A).

9. Install the transmission mount bracket (A) on the body and transmission housing with new mounting bolts and new nuts loosely.

10. Tighten the transmission mount bolts in the numbered sequence shown.

11. Remove the jack, and tighten the bolt (B) and nuts (C) on the transmission mount bracket to the specified torque.

12. Install the transmission ground cable terminal bracket (D).

13. Install the lower torque rod bracket with new bolts.

14. Install a new set ring (A) on the left and right driveshafts (B).

15. Clean the areas where the left and right driveshaft contacts the transmission (differential) with solvent, and dry with compressed air. Then install the left and right driveshafts; be sure not to allow dust or other foreign particles to enter the transmission. Turn the steering knuckle fully outward, and slide the driveshafts into the differential until you feel its set ring fully engage the side gear.

16. Install the driveshaft cover (A).

17. Support the front subframe (A) with a jack, then lift the front subframe up to body.

18. Loosely install new front subframe mounting bolts, then tighten the bolts to the specified torque in the sequence shown.

19. Place a jack under the transmission, raise it, and attach the lower torque rod (A) to the mounting bracket and the front subframe.

NOTE: Make sure the "UP" mark (B) of the torque rod faces up when you install it.

20. Install the new mounting bolt (C), and set the guide plate (D) into the stop (E) through the guide (F), then loosely install the new nut (G).

21. Loosely install the new mounting bolt (H).

22. Remove the jack, and tighten the bolt and nut to the specified torque.

23. Connect the EPS motor connector and the torque sensor connector.

24. Install the CVTF filter (A) with the CVTF filter holder.

25. Connect the CVTF cooler hoses (B) to the CVTF cooler pipes (C), and secure the hoses with the clips (D) Service and Repair.

26. Connect the tie-rod end ball joint to the knuckles.

27. Connect the ball joints (A) to both knuckles (B), and loosely install the new ball joint nuts (C).

28. Connect the stabilizer links (D) to the stabilizer ends (E), and install the nuts (F). Insert a 5 mm hex wrench (G) in the top of the ball joint pins (H), and tighten the nuts. Raise the suspension to load it with the vehicle weight before fully tightening nut (C) to the specified torque values, then secure the nuts with the lock pin (I).

29. Remove the engine support hanger, (AAR-T1256), and install the harness clamp in its bracket location in front of the left damper top.

30. Remove the bolt (A), the nut (B), and the universal lifting eyelet (C) from the air cleaner bracket (D).

31. Install the purge hose (E).

32. Remove the steering wheel holder tool, then connect the steering joint onto the steering gearbox pinion shaft.

33. Install the steering joint cover.

34. Install the drive plate bolts (A) (six) at the opening of the starter while rotating the engine crankshaft pulley.

35. Install the starter (A).

36. Install the hose clamp (B) to the clamp bracket (C).

37. Secure the shift cable holder (A) on the transmission with the bolts.

38. Install the clamp bracket (B), then hose clamp (C) to the heater hose.

39. Apply molybdenum grease to the hole in the shift cable end collar (A). Attach the shift cable end (B) to the selector control lever (C). Insert the control pin (D) through the selector control lever hole (E), through the shift cable end collar hole (F), and into the selector control lever slotted hole (G) in the direction shown. Push the control pin until its flange (H) contacts the selector control lever surface.

40. Insert the lock pin (I) in the direction shown through the control pin hole and out the opening (J) of the selector control lever so that the hooked end (K) of the lock pin locks into the countersunk hole (L) of the control pin.

41. Install the harness cover (A) to the clamp bracket (B), and install the harness holder (C) on the clamp bracket (D).

42. Connect the transmission range switch 8P connector (E), the CVT output shaft (driven pulley) speed sensor 3P connector (F), and the vehicle speed sensor 3P connector (G).

43. Install the clamp bracket (A), then install the harness holder (B) on the clamp bracket.

44. Connect the solenoid wire harness 8P connector (C) and the CVT input shaft (drive pulley) speed sensor 3P connector (D).
