Paddle Shifter Replacement (A/T)




Paddle Shifter Replacement

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, 2-door SRS Component Location Index (2-Door), 4-door SRS Component Location Index (4-Door) and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repair or service.

1. Remove the steering wheel Steering Wheel Removal.

2. Remove the steering wheel rear cover (A) by removing the two screws (B), and releasing the two lock tabs (C).






3. Remove the screws (A) securing both steering wheel trims (B).





4. Remove the steering wheel trims; remove the screw (C), release the lock tabs (D), pull out the fixing pins (E), then disconnect the connectors (F).

5. Using a TORX T30 bit, remove the TORX bolts (A).





6. Remove the paddle shifter + (upshift switch) (B) or the paddle shifter - (downshift switch) (C) by removing the screw (D), then connecting the connector (E).

7. Replace the paddle shifter, and install the paddle shifter to the steering wheel by tightening the screw.

8. Route the paddle shifter wire harness, and connect the paddle shifter connector.

9. Tighten new TORX bolts to the specified torque.

NOTE: Confirm that the horn springs are properly installed on the harness guide Overhaul.

10. Connect the connectors to each switches, then install the steering wheel trims with the screws.

11. Install the steering wheel rear cover.

12. Install the steering wheel Steering Wheel Installation.
