16. Remove the harness clamp (C) from its bracket (D), disconnect the positive starter cable (E) and the S terminal connector (F), and remove the starter.

17. Disconnect the solenoid harness connector (A) and the CVT input shaft (drive pulley) speed sensor connector (B).

18. Disconnect the CVTF cooler hoses (A) from the CVTF cooler lines (B). Turn the end of the CVTF cooler hoses up to prevent CVTF from flowing out, then plug the CVTF cooler hoses and the CVTF cooler lines.

19. Remove the air cleaner housing mounting bracket (A).

20. Remove the snap pin (B) and the control pin (C) from the selector control lever (D).

21. Remove the bolts securing the shift cable bracket (E), then separate the shift cable (F) from the selector control lever. Do not bend the shift cable excessively.

22. '06 model: Disconnect the transmission range switch connector (A), and remove the harness clamp (B) from its bracket (C).

23. '06 model: Disconnect the CVT output shaft (driven pulley) speed sensor connector (D), the CVT speed sensor connector (E), and the CVT speed sensor (secondary) connector (F).

24. '07-11 models: Disconnect the transmission range switch connector (A), and remove the harness clamp (B) from its bracket (C).

25. '07-11 models: Disconnect the CVT output shaft (driven pulley) speed sensor connector (D) and the vehicle speed sensor connector (E).

26. Remove the harness clamps from the clamp bracket.

27. Remove the drive plate bolts (six) at the opening of the starter while rotating the engine crankshaft pulley.

28. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve connector (A), and remove the bolts securing the connector bracket (B).

29. Remove the bolts securing the harness cover (C), and remove the harness cover from its bracket (D).

30. Install the universal lifting eyelet to the bolt hole (A) with 8 x 1.25 mm bolt (B) and spacers (C).

31. Install the front leg assembly (A), the hook (B), and the wing nut (C) from an A and Reds engine support hanger (AAR-T1256) onto the 2006 civic engine hanger (VSB02C000025). Carefully position the engine hanger on the vehicle, and attach the hook to the slotted hole in the universal lifting eyelet (D). Tighten the wing nut by hand to lift and support the engine.

NOTE: Be careful when working around the windshield.

32. Remove the nuts and the bolt securing both lower arms to the ball joints, and separate the lower arms from the ball joints.

33. Remove both mid stiffeners.

34. Remove the exhaust pipe mount rubber (A).
