Engine Oil Pan Removal
Special Tools Required
- Universal Lifting Eyelet 07AAK-SNAA120
- Engine Support Hanger, A and Reds AAR-T1256
- 2006 Civic Engine Hanger VSB02C000025
- Subframe Adapter VSB02C000016

1. If the engine is already out of the vehicle, go to step 26.
2. Raise the vehicle on the lift.
3. Remove the front wheels.
4. Remove the front undercover and the splash shield.
5. Drain the engine oil Service and Repair.
6. Lower the vehicle on the lift.
7. Remove the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly Service and Repair.
8. Disconnect the A/C compressor clutch connector, then remove the A/C compressor.
9. Remove the steering wheel Steering Wheel Removal, then remove the steering joint bolt.
10. Raise the vehicle on the lift.
11. Remove the intake manifold bracket and the harness clamp.
12. Disconnect the steering gearbox harness connectors.
13. Remove the under-floor TWC.
14. Disconnect the front stabilizer links Front Stabilizer Link Removal/Installation.
15. Disconnect the suspension lower arm ball joints Front Lower Ball Joint Replacement.
16. Lower the vehicle on the lift.
17. Attach the universal lifting eyelet (07AAK-SNAA120) to the threaded hole on the cylinder head with a 10 x 1.25 mm bolt.
18. Install the engine support hanger (AAR-T1256) onto the 2006 civic engine hanger (VSB02C000025) as shown, and attach the hook to the slotted hole in the universal lifting eyelet. Tighten the wing nut by hand, and lift and support the engine/IMA motor/transmission..
NOTE:
- Be careful when working around the windshield.
- Be careful not to damage the hood opener cable when installing the engine support hanger at the front bulkhead.
19. Raise the vehicle on the lift.
20. Remove the lower torque rod mounting bolts.
21. Make the appropriate reference line at the both side front subframe that line up with the edges on the body.
22. Loosen the mid stiffener mounting bolt.
23. Attach the subframe adapter (VSB02C000016) to the front subframe by looping the belt over the front of the front subframe, then secure the belt with its stop.
24. Raise the jack and line up the slots in the subframe adapter arms with the bolt holes on the jack base, then carefully attach them with four bolts.
25. Remove the front subframe mounting bolts, then lower the front subframe.
26. Remove the harness clamps (A) and the mounting bolt (B), then remove the dipstick tube (C).
27. Remove the lower torque rod bracket mounting bolts.
28. Remove the two bolts securing the transmission.
29. Remove the bolts securing the oil pan.
30. Insert a flat blade screwdriver where shown, and separate the oil pan from the engine block.
31. Remove the oil pan.
NOTE: Lower the oil pan carefully not to damage the IMA motor (resolver stator).
