Crankshaft Pulley Removal and Installation
Special Tools Required
- Holder Handle 07JAB-001020A
- Holder Attachment, 50 mm 07NAB-001040A
- Socket, 19 mm 07JAA-001020A
Removal
1. Remove the right front wheel.
2. Remove the front undercover and the splash shield.
3. Remove the drive belt Service and Repair.
4. Hold the crankshaft pulley with the holder handle (A) and the holder attachment, 50mm (B).
5. Remove the crankshaft pulley bolt with a socket, 19 mm (C) and a breaker bar.
6. Remove the under-floor TWC.
7. Lift and support the engine with a jack and a wood block under the oil pan.
8. Remove the lower torque rod mounting bolts.
9. Remove the crankshaft pulley while moving the engine forward.
Installation
1. Clean the crankshaft pulley (A), the crankshaft (B), the bolt (C), and the washer (D). Lubricate with new engine oil as shown.
2. Install the crankshaft pulley while moving the engine forward and loosely install the crankshaft pulley.
3. Loosely install the lower torque rod mounting bolt, then loosen the lower torque rod mounting bolt..
4. Tighten the lower torque rod mounting bolts in the numbered sequence shown.
5. Remove the jack and the wood block.
6. Install the under-floor TWC.
7. Tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt. Do not use an impact wrench.
1. Hold the pulley with the holder handle (A) and the holder attachment (B), then torque the bolt to 37 Nm (3.8 kg-m, 27 lb-ft) with a torque wrench and a heavy duty 19 mm socket (C). If the pulley bolt or crankshaft are new, torque the bolt to 177 Nm (18.0 kg-m,130 lb-ft), then remove the bolt and torque it to 37 Nm(3.8 kg-m, 27 lb-ft).
2. Mark the bolt head (D) and the crankshaft pulley (E) as shown, then tighten the bolt an additional 90 ° (The mark on the bolt head lines up with the mark on the crankshaft pulley).
8. Install the drive belt Service and Repair.
9. Install the splash shield and the front undercover.
10. Install the right front wheel.
