DTC B2998:

A Problem in the A/C Compressor Driver

1. Check the No. 22 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box.

Is the fuse OK?

YES -

Go to step 2.

NO -

Replace the fuse, and recheck. If the fuse blows again, check for a short in the No. 22 (7.5 A) fuse circuit.�

2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then turn to ON (II).

4. Do the self-diagnostic function with the HDS Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.

5. Check for DTCs.

Is DTC B2998 indicated?

YES -

Substitute a known-good A/C compressor driver, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original A/C compressor driver Service and Repair.�

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.�
