DTC P0AC0 (65): Battery Current Sensor Circuit Malfunction1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
2. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and wait 1 minute.
3. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0AC0 (65) in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.
Does the screen indicate FAILED?
YES - Go to step 5.
NO - If the screen indicates PASSED, intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the battery current sensor and the BCM module. If the screen indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to step 1 and recheck.
4. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
5. Turn the battery module switch OFF.
6. Remove the IPU lid.
7. Check the BCM module and junction board 12P connections. Are the connections OK?
YES - Go to step 8.
NO - Repair the connections, then go to step 16.
8. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
9. Measure voltage between BCM module connector terminals A5 and A7.
Is there 4 - 5 V?
YES - Replace the battery module, then go to step 15.
NO - Go to step 10.
10. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
11. Disconnect BCM module connector A (40P).
12. Disconnect the junction board 12P connector.
13. Check for continuity between BCM module connector terminal A5 and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES - Repair short to ground in the wire between the junction board and the BCM module (A5), then go to step 15.
NO - Go to step 14.
14. Check for continuity between junction board 12P connector terminal No. 6 and BCM module connector terminal A5.
Is there continuity?
YES - Replace the battery module, then go to step 23.
NO - Repair open in the wire between the BCM module A5) and the junction board, then go to step 15.
15. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
16. Reconnect all connectors.
17. Reinstall the IPU lid, then turn the battery module switch ON.
18. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
19. Reset the BCM module with the HDS.
20. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and wait 1 minute.
21. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?
YES - If DTC P0AC0 (65) is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the battery current sensor and the BCM module, then go to step 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
NO - Go to step 22.
22. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC U0AC0 in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.
Does the screen indicate PASSED?
YES - Troubleshooting is complete.
NO - If the screen indicates FAILED, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the battery current sensor and the BCM module. If the screen indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to step 20 and recheck.
23. Reinstall the IPU lid, then turn the battery module switch ON.
24. Update the BCM module if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good BCM module.
25. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and wait 1 minute.
26. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC P0AC0 (65) indicated?
YES - Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the battery current sensor, and the BCM module. If the BCM module was updated, substitute a known-good BCM module, then go to step 25. If the BCM module was substituted, go to step 1.
NO - If no Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to step 27. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
27. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC U0AC0 (65) in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.
Does the screen indicate PASSED?
YES - If the BCM module was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the BCM module was substituted, replace the original BCM module.
NO - If the screen indicates FAILED, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the battery current sensor, and the BCM module, then go to step 1. If the screen indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to step 25.
