P0780

DTC P0780: Problem in Hydraulic Control System

NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot, and review General Troubleshooting Information.

1. Check whether the HDS indicates DTC P1898 and/or P1899 simultaneously with the DTC P0780.

NOTE: P0780 means there is CVT DTC P1898 and/or P1899 about the hydraulic control system.

Does the HDS indicate DTC P1898 and/or P1899?
YES - Troubleshoot DTC P1898 and/or P1899.
NO - Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM, then recheck for DTC P0780. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good PCM, replace the original PCM.
