1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
3. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0037 (98 or 99) indicated?
YES - Go to step 4.
NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time.

4. Check for IMA system and PGM-FI system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0037 indicated?
YES - Go to step 11.
NO - Go to step 5.

5. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
6. Turn the battery module switch OFF.
7. Remove the IPU lid.
8. Disconnect BCM module connector A (40P).
9. Remove the BCM module, then disconnect the MCM 20P connector.
10. Check for continuity between these terminals:
^ BCM module connector terminal A20 and MCM 20P connector terminal No. 11.
^ BCM module connector terminal A40 and MCM 20P connector terminal No. 1.

Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 32.
NO - Repair open in the wire between the BCM module (A20, A40) and the MCM (No. 10, No. 20), then go to step 30.

11. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
12. Turn the battery module switch OFF.
13. Remove the IPU lid.
14. Measure resistance between BCM module connector terminals A20 and A40.

Is there 50 - 62 ohms?
YES - Go to step 30.
NO - Go to step 15.

15. Disconnect BCM module connector A (40P).
16. Remove the BCM module, then disconnect the MCM 20P connector.
17. Disconnect PCM connector A (44P) and the A/C compressor driver 4P connector.
18. Measure resistance between BCM module connector terminals A20 and A40.

Is there 1 ohms or less?
YES - Repair short in the wire between BCM module connector terminals A20 and A40, then go to step 30.
NO - Go to step 19.

19. Reconnect the A/C compressor driver 4P connector.
20. Measure resistance between BCM module connector terminals A20 and A40.

Is there 2 - 3 k ohms?
YES - Go to step 21.
NO - Replace the A/C compressor driver, then go to step 30.

21. Disconnect the A/C compressor driver 4P connector.
22. Reconnect PCM connector A (44P).
23. Measure resistance between BCM module connector terminals A20 and A40.

Is there 100 - 200 ohms?
YES - Go to step 24.
NO - Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM, then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good PCM, replace the original PCM, then go to step 30.

24. Disconnect PCM connector A (44P).
25. Reconnect the MCM 20P connector.
26. Measure resistance between BCM module connector terminals A20 and A40.

Is there 2 - 3 k ohms?
YES - Go to step 27.
NO - Go to step 36.

27. Disconnect the MCM 20P connector.
28. Reconnect BCM module connector A (40P).
29. Measure resistance between BCM module connector terminals A20 and A40.

Is there 100 - 200 ohms?
YES - Go to step 30.
NO - Go to step 39.

30. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
31. Reconnect all connectors.
32. Reinstall the IPU lid, then turn the battery module switch ON.
33. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
34. Reset the BCM module and the MCM with the HDS.
35. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?
YES - If DTC U0037 (98, 99) is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the BCM module, the A/C compressor driver, the PCM, and the MCM, then go to step 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
NO - Troubleshooting is complete.

36. Reinstall the IPU lid, then turn the battery module switch ON.
37. Update the MCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good MCM.
38. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0037 (98) indicated?
YES - Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the BCM module, the A/C compressor driver, the PCM, and the MCM. If the MCM was updated, substitute a known-good MCM, then recheck. If the MCM was substituted, go to step 1.
NO - If the MCM was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the MCM was substituted, replace the original MCM. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
