DTC 64

DTC U1206 (64): IMA-CAN Malfunction (BCM Module-MCM)
1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
2. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0037 (98) indicated?
YES - Do the troubleshooting for DTC U0037 (98).
NO - Go to step 3.

3. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
4. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U1206 (64) indicated?
YES - Go to step 5.
NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the PCK the BCM module, the A/C compressor driver, and the MCM.

5. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
6. Turn the battery module switch OFF.
7. Remove the IPU lid.
8. Disconnect BCM module connector A (40P).
9. Remove the BCM module, then disconnect the MCM 20P connector.
10. Check for continuity between BCM module connector terminal A20 and MCM 20P connector terminal No. 11 and between BCM module connector terminal A40 and MCM 20P connector terminal No. 1.





Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 18.
NO - Repair open in the wire between the PCM, the BCM module (A20, A40), and the MCM (No. 1, No. 11), then go to step 11.

11. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
12. Reconnect all connectors.
13. Reinstall the IPU lid, then turn the battery module switch ON.
14. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
15. Reset the BCM module with the HDS.
16. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?
YES - If DTC U1202 (64) is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the PCM, the BCM module, and the MCM, then go to step 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
NO - Troubleshooting is complete.

17. Reinstall the IPU lid, then turn the battery module switch ON.
18. Update the BCM module if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good BCM module.
19. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U1206 (64) indicated?
YES - Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the PCM, the BCM module, and the MCM. If the BCM module was updated, substitute a known-good BCM module, then recheck. If the BCM module was substituted, go to step 1.
NO - If the BCM module was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the BCM module was substituted, replace the original BCM module. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
