3. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
4. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U1204 (55) indicated?
YES - Go to step 5.
NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the PCM, the BCM module, and the MCM.
5. Check for IMA system and PGM-FI Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U1204 (55) or U0037 (PGM-FI system) indicated?
YES - Go to step 6.
NO - Go to step 9.
6. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
7. Disconnect PCM connector A (44P).
8. Turn the battery module switch OFF.
9. Remove the IPU lid.
10. Disconnect BCM module connector A (40P).
11. Connect BCM module connector terminals A20 and A40 to body ground with a jumper wire.
12. Check for continuity between body ground and PCM connector terminals A38 and A39 individually.
Is there continuity?
YES - Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM, then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good PCM, replace the original PCM, then go to step 13.
NO - Repair open in the wire between the PCM, the BCM module (A20, A40), and the MCM (No. 1, No. 11), then go to step 13.
13. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
14. Reconnect all connectors.
15. Reinstall the IPU lid, then turn the battery module switch ON.
16. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
17. Reset the BCM module with the HDS.
18. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?
YES - If DTC U1204 (65) is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the PCM, the BCM module, and the MCM, then go to step 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
NO - Troubleshooting is complete.
19. Reinstall the IPU lid, then turn the battery module switch ON.
20. Update the BCM module if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good BCM module.
21. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U1204 (55) indicated?
YES - Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the PCM, the BCM module, and the MCM. If the BCM module was updated, substitute a known-good BCM module, then recheck. If the BCM module was substituted, go to step 1.
NO - If the BCM module was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the BCM module was substituted, replace the original BCM module. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
