DTC 101
DTC U0110 (101): F-CAN Malfunction (BCM Module-MCM)NOTE: If DTC U1205 (75) is stored at the same time as DTC U0110 (101) and U0028 (108), the MCM relay is OFF forcibly.
1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
2. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0028 (108) indicated?
YES - Do the troubleshooting for DTC U0028 (108).
NO - Go to step 3.
3. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
4. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0110 (101) indicated?
YES - Go to step 5.
NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the PCM, the BCM module, and the MCM.
5. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U1205 (75) indicated?
YES - Go to step 14.
NO - Go to step 6.
6. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
7. Turn the battery module switch OFF.
8. Remove the IPU lid.
9. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the MCM connector.
Are the connections OK?
YES - Go to step 10.
NO - Repair the connections, then go to step 27.
10. Disconnect BCM module connector A (40P).
11. Remove the BCM module.
12. Disconnect the MCM 20P connector.
13. Check for continuity between BCM module connector terminal A1 and MCM 20P connector terminal No. 20, and between BCM module connector terminal A21 and MCM 20P connector terminal No. 10.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 37.
NO - Repair open in the wire between the BCM module (A1, A21) and the MCM (No. 10, No. 20), then go to step 27.
14. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
15. Turn the battery module switch OFF.
16. Remove the IPU lid.
17. Remove the BCM module, then check for continuity between body ground and MCM 20P connector terminals No. 2 and No. 9 individually.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 18.
NO - Repair open in the wire between the MCM (No. 2, No. 9) and G902, then go to step 27.
18. Disconnect the MCM 20P connector.
19. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), then measure voltage between MCM 20P connector terminals No. 18 and No. 19 and body ground within 1 second.
Is there 12 V battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 36.
NO - Go to step 20.
20. Check MCM relay 2.
Is the relay OK?
YES - Go to step 21.
NO - Replace MCM relay 2, then go to step 28.
21. Check the +B IMA2 (10 A) fuse.
Is the fuse OK?
YES - Go to step 22.
NO -
^ Replace the +B IMA2 (10 A) fuse, then go to step 28.
^ Repair short to ground in the wire between the +B IMA2 (10 A) fuse and MCM relay 2, then go to step 27.
22. Measure voltage between MCM relay 24P connector terminal No. 2 and body ground.
Is there 12 V battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 23.
NO - Repair open in the wire between MCM relay 2 and the +B IMA2 (10 A), then go to step 27.
23. Check for continuity between MCM 20P connector terminal No. 18 and MCM relay 2 V connector terminal No. 1.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 24.
NO - Repair open in the wire between MCM relay 2 and the MCM (No. 19), then go to step 27.
24. Disconnect BCM module connector A (40P).
25. Check for continuity between BCM module connector terminal A12 and MCM relay 2 V connector terminal No. 3.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 26.
NO - Repair open in the wire between MCM relay 2 and the BCM module (A12), then go to step 27.
26. Check for continuity between MCM relay 14P connector terminal No. 1 and MCM relay 24P connector terminal No. 4.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 33.
NO - Repair open in the wire between MCM relay 1 and MCM relay 2, then go to step 27.
27. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
28. Reconnect all connectors.
29. Reinstall the IPU lid, then turn the battery module switch ON.
30. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
31. Reset the BCM module and MCM with the HDS.
32. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?
YES - If DTC U0110 (101) is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the PCM, the BCM module, and the MCM, then go to step 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
NO - Troubleshooting is complete.
33. Reinstall the IPU lid, then turn the battery module switch ON.
34. Update the BCM module if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good BCM module.
35. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0110 (101) indicated?
YES - Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the PCM, the BCM module, and the MCM. If the BCM module was updated, substitute a known-good BCM module, then recheck. If the BCM module was substituted, go to step 1.
NO - If the BCM module was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the BCM module was substituted, replace the original BCM module. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
36. Reinstall the IPU lid, then turn the battery module switch ON.
37. Update the MCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good MCM.
38. Check for IMA system Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0110 (101) indicated?
YES - Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the PCM, the BCM module, and the MCM. If the MCM was updated, substitute a known-good MCM, then recheck. If the MCM was substituted, go to step 1.
NO - If the MCM was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the MCM was substituted, replace the original MCM. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
