DTC 73
DTC 73: Brake Fluid Level Switch Malfunction1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir union.
Is brake fluid level OK?
YES - Go to step 3.
NO - Do the brake pad inspection, and add brake fluid, then go to step 3.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
4. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
5. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
6. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
7. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC 73 indicated?
YES - Go to step 8.
NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
8. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
9. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
10. Disconnect the brake fluid level switch 2P connector.
11. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
12. Measure voltage between brake level position switch 2P connector terminal No. 2 and body ground.
Is there battery voltage7
YES - Go to step 13.
NO - Repair short in the wire between the gauge control module and the brake fluid level switch.
13. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC 73 indicated?
YES - Do the self-diagnostic function on the gauge control module.
NO - Replace the brake fluid reservoir union (brake fluid level switch is included).
