P1571

DTC P1571 (7): Motor Commutation Sensor Voltage Input Problem

NOTE: If some of the DTCs listed below are stored at the same time as DTC P1571, troubleshoot those DTCs first, then recheck for DTC P1571.

DTC P1559, P1560: motor commutation sensor A
DTC P1561, P1562: motor commutation sensor B
DTC P1563, P1564: motor commutation sensor C
1. Reset the MCM.
2. Start the engine.
Is DTC P1571 indicated?
YES-Go to step 3.
NO-Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the motor commutation sensor and at the MCM.
3. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
4. Check for poor connections at the motor commutation sensor 10P connector.
Are the connections OK?
YES-Go to step 5.
NO-Repair the poor connections at the motor commutation sensor 10P connector, then go to step 8.
5. Turn the battery module switch OFF.
6. Remove the IPU lid.
7. Check for poor connections at MCM connector B (24P).
Are the connections OK?
YES-Go to step 8.
NO-Repair the poor connections at MCM connector B (24P), then go to step 8.
8. Reset the MCM.
9. Start the engine.
Is DTC P1571 indicated?
YES-Update the MCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good MCM, then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good MCM, replace the original MCM.
NO-Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the motor commutation sensor and at the MCM.
