DTC 68: Brake Pedal Position Switch
1. Check the DTC.
Is DTC 86 indicated?
YES - Go to troubleshooting for DTC 86.
NO - Go to step 2.
2. Check the brake pedal position switch.
Is the switch OK?
YES - Go to step 3.
NO - Replace the brake pedal position switch.
3. Clear the DTC.
4. Test-drive the vehicle.
Does the ABS indicator come on, and is DTC 68 indicated?
YES - Go to step 5.
NO - The system is OK at this time.
5. Check the BRAKE SWITCH indication in the PGM-FI data list using the Honda PGM Tester or HDS.
Does the BRAKE SWITCH data indicate ON with the brake pedal pressed, and OFF with the brake pedal released?
YES - Check for loose terminals in the ABS/TCS control unit 47P connector. If necessary, substitute a known-good ABS/TCS modulator-control unit, and recheck.
NO - Repair open or short in brake pedal position switch circuit. If the circuit is OK, substitute a known-good PCM, and recheck.
