Normal Operation
The restraints control module (RCM) monitors all the impact sensors for a cross link between circuits. If the RCM detects a short between any of the impact sensor feed circuits, it will store 2 diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) in memory and illuminate the air bag indicator.

Possible Causes
An impact sensor cross link to another sensor fault can be caused by:
- damaged wiring, terminals or connectors.
- a faulted RCM.
