Headliner: Service and Repair

HEADLINER

Removal

All vehicles
1. Remove the A-pillar trim panels.







2. Disconnect and detach the interior lighting wiring harness and washer tube from the A-pillar.
3. Remove the C-pillar trim panels.







4. Remove the sun visors.







5. Remove the sun visor retaining clips.
6. If equipped, remove the overhead console.
7. If equipped, remove the front dome lamp and bezel.

Vehicles with roof opening panel







8. Remove the roof opening panel weatherstrip.







9. Open the covers on the passenger assist handles.







10. Using a suitable 6mm flat-bladed screwdriver, remove the passenger assist handles.
- Rotate the screwdriver 90 degrees to release the retaining clips.

4-door, 5-door and wagon







11. Remove the headliner trim panels.







12. Detach the rear interior lamp.







13. Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the rear interior lamp.

Wagon







14. Remove the D-pillar trim panels.







15. CAUTION: Remove the trim panel at a 45 degree angle to avoid damaging the trim panel clips.

Remove the headliner trim panels.

All vehicles







16. Remove the headliner rear retaining clips.

3-door, 5-door and wagon







17. Disconnect the rear washer tube from the headliner.
18. Remove the headliner through the liftgate opening.

4-door







19. NOTE: Recline the passenger seat backrest to allow removal of the headliner.

Remove the headliner through the passenger door opening.

Installation
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
