Normal Operation
The instrument cluster monitors the autolamp request (from the headlamp switch) through circuit 8-LE47 (WH/GN) to the headlamp switch. After a signal for the autolamps is received, the instrument cluster then monitors the photocell ambient light conditions by sending a signal to the photocell through circuit 8-LE42 (WH/BU). The photocell is grounded through circuit 31-LE42 (BK/OG).
Possible Causes
- circuit 8-LE42 (WH/BN) open or short to power
- circuit 8-LE47 (GY/OG) open, short to ground or short to power
- circuit 31-LE42 (BK/OG) open
- photocell
