Pressure Test
NOTE: If no problem is found with the vehicle inspection and the radiator cap testing, and there is a coolant loss, the cooling system pressure test should be performed.1. Make sure the engine is cool before performing the test.
2. Connect Rotunda Cooling System Adapter 014-R1071 to the Rotunda Radiator/Heater Core Pressure Tester 014-R1072 or equivalent, using the quick disconnect fitting.
3. Connect the filler neck adapter to the radiator cap pressure test adapter.
4. Connect the adapter to the radiator filler neck.
5. Pressurize the cooling system to 102 kPa (14.9 psi).
CAUTION: Do not pressurize the system above the given specification.
6. Observe the pressure gauge for approximately two minutes.
NOTE: Check the radiator cap on the RH side of the engine for leakage when pressurizing the system. Check the rubber seal and relief valve on the radiator cap and the filler neck for rust or damage.
7. Release the system pressure by depressing the relief valve on the underside of the tester.
8. If the system does not hold pressure, service the system for leaks.
