Window Regulator: Testing and Inspection

1. Key OFF.
2. Disconnect the front door power window regulator(s) in question.
3. Apply 12 volts to one of the terminals on the front door power window regulator.
4. Apply ground to the other terminal on the front door power window regulator.
5. Reverse the 12 volt and ground supplies on the front door power window regulator.
6. The window will move in one direction (up or down) when 12 volts and ground are applied. When 12 volts and ground are reversed, the front door power window regulator should operate the window in the opposite direction.
7. If the front door power window regulator does not operate as specified, replace the front door power window regulator. Otherwise, return to the Pinpoint Test. Pinpoint Tests
