Pinpoint Test EG: One Or More License Lamps Inoperative

EG1 - Check Supply To Suspect License Lamp

- Actuate headlamp switch to the PARK position.
- Gain access to suspect license lamp connector. Disconnect the suspect license lamp.
- Using a voltmeter connected to a known good ground, connect the second lead to circuit 14 (BR) at license lamp connector.

Is voltage B+?

YES GO to EG2.
NO SERVICE circuit 14 (BR) for open circuit. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.

EG2 - Check Suspect License Lamp

- Using an ohmmeter connected to a known good ground, connect second lead to circuit 57 (BK) at license lamp connector. Measure resistance.

Is resistance 5 ohms or less?

YES REPLACE damaged license lamp miniature bulb. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO SERVICE Circuit 57 (BK) for open circuit. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
