Pinpoint Test EF: One Or More Rear Lamps Inoperative

EF1 - Check Supply To Suspect Tail Lamp

- Actuate headlamp switch to the PARK position.
- Gain access to suspect headlamp switch lamp connector. Disconnect the suspect tail lamp.
- Using a voltmeter connected to a known good ground, connect the second lead to circuit 14 (BR) at tail lamp connector.

Is voltage B+?

YES GO to EF2.
NO SERVICE circuit 14 (BR) for open circuit. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.

EF2 - Check Suspect Tail Lamp

- Using an ohmmeter connected to a known good ground, connect second lead to circuit 57 (BK) at parking lamp connector. Measure resistance.

Is resistance 5 ohms or less?

YES REPLACE damaged tail lamp miniature bulb. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO SERVICE circuit 57 (BK) for open circuit. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
