Pinpoint Test A - Integrated Circuit Display(s) Inoperative Or Erratic

A1 - Check Circuit 640 (R/Y)

- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove instrument cluster as outlined.
- Disconnect instrument cluster connectors C1 and C2.
- Remove fuse 13 (15A) from fuse junction panel.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between load side of fuse 13 (15A) and ground.

Is resistance less than 10K ohms?

YES G0 to A2. SERVICE short to ground in circuit 640 (R/Y).
NO RESTORE system. RETEST system.

A2 - Check Printed Circuit 640 (R/Y) For Opens

- Measure resistance of circuit 640 (R/Y) between load side of fuse 13 (15A) and instrument cluster connector pins C2-6 arid C1-3.

Is resistance less than 5 ohms for both circuits?

YES REPLACE instrument cluster printed circuit. RESTORE system. RETEST system.
NO SERVICE open in circuit 640 (R/Y). RESTORE system. RETEST system.
