EGR 2 - Check EGR Vent Solenoid

^ Key OFF.

^ Disconnect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation Vent (EGRV) solenoid.

^ Disconnect the vacuum hoses.

^ Block port D.

^ Blow into port C and verify that air flows through port E (interconnecting hose between port B and port D is not shown in art for solenoid clarification).

EGR Vent Solenoid:

^ Apply 12 volts and ground to the EGRV solenoid as shown.

^ Blow into port C and verify that air does not flow through port E.

^ Does the EGRV solenoid function properly?

YES -- Go to EGR3. EGR 3 - Check EGR Valve

NO -- Replace the EGRV solenoid.
