AIR27 - Check Air Solenoid

NOTE: A rolling idle could be the result of a leaking AIR solenoid. Quick test may also indicate Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) 311, 312, 313 or 314.

^ START engine and run until temperature is fully stabilized.

^ Turn the engine OFF.

^ Disconnect the vacuum hose at the AIR solenoid.

^ Plug the vacuum hose.

^ RESTART engine.

^ After a few minutes of engine running, the "rolling" idle should stop.

^ If no rolling idle is present.

^ Unplug the vacuum hose.

^ Verify vacuum is present.

^ Does rolling idle stop or is vacuum present?

YES -- Replace secondary air solenoid assembly.

NO -- For rolling idle, go to diagnosis by symptom. Diagnosis By Symptom For DTC 311, go to AIR29. AIR29 - Check Vacuum Vacuum Supply to Reservoir For all others go to diagnostic routines. SEE Powertrain Management / Testing and Inspection / Diagnostic Routines.
