Positive Crankcase Ventilation: Testing and Inspection

NOTE: Set parking brake and block wheels. Place transmission/transaxle in neutral or park. Place the A/C-Heat selector in the OFF position.

^ Check the blow-by gases hose from the oil separator to the throttle body for blockage, cracks, leaks.

^ Check the oil separator for blockage, cracks.

^ Check the fresh air hose from the throttle body to the cylinder head grommet for blockage, cracks, leaks.

^ Are the above checks OK?

YES -- System is OK. Reconnect any hoses as necessary. Go to diagnostics routines to other possible causes of vehicle symptoms.

NO -- Service as necessary.
