Continuous Test
NOTE: Remember to keep your eyes on the VOM, Super STAR II, and anti-lock brake warning indicator for any change which will indicate where the intermittent failure is located.
This test is intended as an aid in diagnosing intermittent failures in the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS). It is identical to the Key ON, Engine Running Test, but also allows the technician to enter this mode of the test and to attempt to recreate the intermittent failure by tapping, moving, and wiggling the harness and/or suspected sensor. Faults will be indicated by diagnostic trouble codes using a voltmeter or Super STAR II Tester. With the knowledge of the affected circuits, a close check of the harness and associated connectors can be made.
When directed to a Pinpoint Test, look carefully at the schematic. Any time a repair is made, erase the anti-lock brake control module memory and repeat the Quick Test to ensure that the repair was effective.
