^ Disconnect the air bag sliding contact connector from the main harness beneath the steering column.

^ There is a shorting bar on the air bag sliding contact connector where it connects to the main wiring harness. The shorting bar will jump the two air bag sliding contact circuits together.

^ Measure the resistance across the two air bag module circuits from the air bag sliding contact connector at the top of the steering wheel. This will measure the two air bag sliding contact windings through the shorting bar.

^ Subtract the reading taken when the Rotunda 73 Digital Multimeter 105-00051 or equivalent leads were shorted (touched) together.

^ Is the result 0.5 ohms +/- 0.3 ohms?

YES -- Check wiring harness for open terminals that would cause open/high resistance across circuits 944A and 937. Service as necessary. Verify the system. Reactivate the system.

NO -- Replace the air bag sliding contact. Reactivate the system.
