32-2 Check the Circuit Resistance
^ Deactivate the air bag system.
^ Disconnect the air bag diagnostic monitor connectors.
^ Set the Rotunda 73 Digital Multimeter 105-00051 or equivalent on the lowest ohm scale possible (typically 200 ohms).
^ Touch the leads of the Rotunda 73 Digital Multimeter 105-00051 or equivalent together and note the reading.
^ Measure the resistance across Pins 10 (circuit 937 GY) and 11 (circuit 944A GN/R) at the black air bag diagnostic monitor harness connector.
^ Subtract the reading when the leads were shorted (touched) together.
^ Is the result 1.5 ohms +/- 0.5 ohms?
YES -- Go to 32-3. 32-3 Check For Malfunctioning Air Bag Diagnostic Monitor
NO -- (Result is greater than 2.0 ohms). Locate the high resistance/open circuit between the air bag diagnostic monitor pins 10 and 11, and the driver side air bag module. Check all interconnects, air bag sliding contact, joint connectors, and safing sensor circuits for poor connections or open circuits. Service as necessary. Verify the system. Reactivate the system.
NO -- (Result is less than 1.0 ohm). Go to 32-5. 32-5
