Vehicle Theft Security - Description

DESCRIPTION

The Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) is designed to protect against whole vehicle theft. The system monitors vehicle doors, hood, trunk and ignition action for unauthorized operation. The alarm activates:

- An engine kill feature
- Flashing of the fog lamps
- Flashing of the park and tail lamps
- Sounding of the horn

The VTSS is a standard feature on this vehicle. It is designed to provide passive protection against unauthorized vehicle use by disabling the engine after two seconds of running, whenever an improper entry is used to enter the vehicle.

The primary components of this system are:

- Body Control Module (BCM)
- Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
- Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
- Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) light located in the rear view mirror
