Fuel Rail - Removal
REMOVAL
WARNING: The fuel system is under a constant pressure (even with the engine off). Before servicing any fuel system hoses, fittings or lines, the fuel system pressure must be released.
1. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable at battery.
2. Release fuel system pressure, Service and Repair.
3. Remove the air cleaner assembly, Air Cleaner Body - Removal.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector (3) to the MAP sensor (2).
5. Position the hose clamp (3) back onto hose and disconnect vacuum hose (2) from intake manifold nipple (1).
6. Remove the electrical connector harness attachment clips (1) from throttle bodies.
7. Disconnect the electrical connectors (2) from the throttle bodies.
8. Use a 3/8 fuel line disconnect tool and disconnect the fuel line quick connector from the fuel rail assembly.
9. Disconnect the electrical connector from each of the fuel injectors.
10. Remove the intake manifold, Intake Manifold - Removal.
11. Remove the bolts from fuel rail.
12. Pull fuel rail and injectors straight up and out of cylinder heads.
13. Remove the fuel injectors from fuel rail.
