Cylinder Head Cover(s) - Installation






INSTALLATION

NOTE: Care must be taken to protect the cylinder head covers powder coating from scrapes and abrasions.





1. Inspect cylinder head cover gasket (1) for damage. Replace as necessary.





2. Place cylinder head cover(s) onto cylinder head.





3. When installing the right cover, be sure to secure oil level indicator tube (3) with cylinder head cover retaining bolt (1).





4. Install and tighten cylinder head cover bolts to 11 Nm (100 in. lbs.) in sequence shown.
5. Connect spark plug wires.
6. Reposition harness and connect coil electrical connectors.





7. When installing the right cover, connect PCV hose (5).
8. When installing the left cover, install the brake booster hose (2) and make-up air hose (3).






NOTE: Make sure rubber coil cover isolators are in place prior to installing coil covers.

9. Position ignition coil covers.

NOTE: Apply Mopar Lock & Seal Adhesive (or equivalent) to bolt threads prior to installation.

10. Install coil cover bolts and tighten to 11 Nm (97 in. lbs.).
