Brake and/or Accelerator Pedals - Installation






INSTALLATION

1. Place pedals assembly under instrument panel using reverse procedure used for removal.









2. Attach wiring components (2) to bracket (1) on left side of pedals assembly.










3. Slide pedals assembly (3) into mounted position and install two nuts that attach pedals assembly to upper dash (1). Do not fully tighten at this time.
4. Slide power brake booster mounting studs (2) back through dash and pedals assembly.
5. Install four nuts attaching power brake booster. Tighten nuts to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).
6. Tighten two nuts that attach pedals assembly to upper dash to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).










7. Position accelerator pedal (2) and install nuts mounting it in place. Tighten nuts to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.).

8. Connect electronic throttle control wiring connector at accelerator pedal.









9. Using lubriplate, or equivalent, coat contact surface of brake pedal pin (2).
10. Slide power brake booster input rod (3) onto brake pedal pin and install NEW retainer clip (1). Do not use old clip.










11. Clip clutch push rod onto clutch pedal pin (2).










12. Connect wiring connector (2) at pedal motor (1).

CAUTION: Do not reuse the original stop lamp switch. Anytime a switch has been removed or its position compromised, a new switch must be installed and adjusted. Do not attempt to readjust the switch.

13. Install NEW brake lamp switch and adjust. Do not reuse old switch.Stop Lamp Switch - Installation
14. Install steering column and components removed to access it. Steering Column - Installation
15. Connect battery negative (-) cable to battery following special Diagnosis And Testing procedure. Component Tests and General Diagnostics
16. Check operation of adjustable pedals and components they control.
