Engine Oil Pan - Installation







INSTALLATION





1. Clean gasket surfaces. Inspect oil pan gasket. Replace as necessary.
2. Apply an 1/8 in. bead of Mopar Engine RTV at the front T-joints (1) between the cylinder block to timing chain case cover. and the two joints between the rear main seal retainer and engine block.




3. Apply an 1/8 in. bead of Mopar Engine RTV at the rear T-joints (1) between the rear main seal retainer and engine block.




4. Position oil pan (1) and gasket (2) to engine block. Hand start all fasteners.




5. Run the transmission to oil pan bolts in finger tight.
6. Tighten oil pan bolts 1 - 15 to 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.).
7. Tighten oil pan bolts 16 - 19 to 11 Nm (95 in lbs.).




8. Tighten transmission to oil pan bolts (3) to 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.).




9. Install fasteners securing A/C line to oil pan.




10. Install flywheel inspection cover.
11. Lower vehicle.
12. Fill the crankcase with oil to proper level.
13. Start engine and check for leaks.
