Throttle Body Cleaning

1. Warm engine to operating temperature, then turn ignition OFF.
2. Remove the air intake hose from the throttle body.
3. Plug the bypass passage inlet of the throttle body.






CAUTION: Do not allow cleaning solvent to enter the bypass passage.

4. Spray the cleaning solution onto the valve through the throttle body intake port.
Let it stand for about 5 minutes.
5. Start the engine, race it several times, then let it idle for a few minutes.
If the idle becomes rough or if the engine stalls, open the throttle valve slightly to keep the engine running.
6. Repeat the above steps until the the deposits are cleared.
7. Unplug the bypass passage inlet.
8. Attach the air intake hose.
9. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for 15 seconds.
