Door Ajar Indicator System Components

The door ajar indicator system consists of the following components:

* The driver information center

* Door jamb switches for each door

* Liftgate ajar switch

* Rear compartment lid latch release actuator

Door Ajar Operation

B+ voltage is supplied to the driver information center, the door ajar indicator is control by the door jamb switches which are connected in a parallel configuration. The door jamb switches are normally open when the doors are closed and the switches will close when a door is open or ajar.

When a door ajar switch is closed, it will complete the circuit for the door ajar indicator, thus causing the indicator to illuminate.
