Transmission Brace Replacement (Front Wheel Drive)

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the right engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement (Service and Repair).




4. Remove the transaxle brace bolts.
5. Remove the transaxle brace.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the transaxle brace to transaxle and engine.
2. Hand start the bolts to the engine.
3. Hand start the bolts to the transaxle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).

4. Install the brace bolts to the engine.

Tighten the bolts to 43 N.m (32 lb ft).

5. Install the brace bolts to the transaxle.

Tighten the bolts to 43 N.m (32 lb ft).

6. Install the right engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Install the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
8. Lower the vehicle.
