Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector (1) from the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve.
3. Disconnect the chassis EVAP pipe from the EVAP canister purge valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).




4. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve bolt (2).
5. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve (3).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the EVAP canister purge valve (3).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).

2. Install the EVAP canister purge valve bolt (2).

Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).




3. Connect the chassis EVAP pipe to the EVAP canister purge valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
4. Connect the engine harness electrical connector (1) to the EVAP canister purge valve.
5. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
