Diagnostic Fault Information
Circuit/System Description
The power sliding door (PSD) is designed to stop and reverse direction when an obstruction is present. Proper mechanical operation of the PSD is necessary for power open and close functions to occur.
Diagnostic Aids
Manually open and close the PSD slowly in order to determine if the door operates smoothly and without excessive resistance.
* Clean and lubricate or replace the tracks as necessary and verify proper PSD cable tension.
* Verify that the door and latches are aligned and operate properly.
Inspect the PSD plungers and corresponding B-Pillar pads for the following conditions:
* Proper door plunger operation.
* Clean electrical contact from the door plungers to the B-pillar pads.
* Proper alignment of the door plungers to the B-pillar pads.

Circuit/System Verification
Ignition ON, observe the scan tool PSD Detent Switch parameter while opening and closing the appropriate power sliding door. The reading should change between Active and Inactive.
Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate Sliding Door Detent Switch.
2. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool PSD Detent Switch parameter is Inactive.
• If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal A for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the appropriate PSDM.
3. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the appropriate Sliding Door Detent Switch.
Component Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate Sliding Door Detent Switch.
2. Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminal A and the ground circuit terminal B with the switch in the open position.
• If not the specified value, replace the Sliding Door Detent Switch.
3. Test for less than 1.0 ohms between the signal terminal A and the ground terminal B with the switch in the closed position.
• If greater than the specified range, replace the Sliding Door Detent Switch.
Repair Instructions
