Digital Radio Receiver Replacement

Removal Procedure





Important: Do not exchange digital radio receivers between vehicles. Exchanging digital receivers between vehicles will activate the digital radio Theftlock. "XM Theftlock" will be displayed.


1. Remove the left instrument panel (I/P) insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).




2. Remove the receiver bracket nuts.
3. Remove the receiver from the bracket.
4. Disengage the electrical connector and the antenna connectors from the XM radio receiver.




5. Remove the XM digital radio receiver from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the XM digital radio receiver to the receiver bracket.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).

2. Install the radio receiver nuts.

Tighten the nuts to 4 N.m (35 lb in).




3. Connect the electrical connectors and the antenna connectors to the XM radio receiver.




4. Install the left I/P insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Perform the setup procedure for the digital radio receiver. Refer to Control Module References (Programming and Relearning) for programming and setup information.
