Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Upper Bearing Inner Race - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

Tools Required
* J 41352 Steering Column Holding Fixture
* J 23653-SIR Lock Plate Compressor




1. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement Steering Wheel Replacement.
2. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement Steering Column Replacement.
3. Set the steering column and J 41352 into a vise.
Important: Align the block tooth on the race and upper shaft assembly to the 12 o'clock position.


Place the ignition switch in the LOCK position and remove the key.
4. Check the steering column jacket assembly for accident damage. Refer to Steering Column Accident Damage Inspection - Off Vehicle Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
5. If necessary, remove the wire harness assembly strap (1) and any other wire harness straps.




6. Compress the turn signal cancel cam assembly using J 23653-SIR .
7. Remove and dispose of the bearing retainer (1) from the steering shaft assembly.
8. Remove J 23653-SIR .




9. Remove the steering shaft spacer (1).
10. Remove the turn signal cancel cam (2).
11. Remove the upper bearing spring (3).
