DTC 68

Cruise Switch Circuit:

Code 67 Diagnostic Chart:

Circuit Description:
CKT 350 is controlled by the ignition switch and protected by a 15 amp fuse. It provides system voltage to the cruise control switches and brake switch as well as other circuits.

Code 67 will set if:

^ CKT 397 is open between cruise engage switch and the PCM.
^ CKT 84 (set/coast switch) is closed for an extended amount of time (switch problem).
^ CKT 87 (resume/accel switch) is closed for an extended amount of time (switch problem).
^ CKT 86 is open to the PCM (no change in the status of the cruise brake switch) after the vehicle makes 5 stops from 35 mph (for more than 10 seconds) down to 0 mph.
^ Any of the above CKTs are shorted to voltage.
^ One of the above conditions are met.

Code 67 does not illuminate the "Service Engine Soon" light.

NOTE: A short to ground in CKTs 397, 84, 86 or 87 will cause a failure of the cruise engagement switch. It will not blow the 15 amp fuse for CKT 639.

NOTE: An intermittent may be caused by a poor connection, rubbed through wire insulation, or a wire broken inside the insulation.

Check For:

^ Poor Connection or Damaged Harness - Inspect harness connectors for backed out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals, poor terminal to wire connection, and damaged harness.
