CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) ACTUATOR SOLENOID VALVE SOLENOID REPLACEMENT - BANK 1 (RIGHT) INTAKE

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Turn the ignition OFF.
2. Remove the ECM bracket bolts and reposition the ECM bracket in order to provide access.

IMPORTANT: Do not remove the engine control module (ECM) from the ECM bracket.

Do not remove the ECM redundant ground wire from the ECM.

3. Remove the camshaft position actuator valve electrical connector.

4. Remove the camshaft position actuator valve bolt.
5. Remove the camshaft position actuator valve.
6. Remove the camshaft position actuator valve seal and replace as necessary.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Inspect the camshaft position actuator actuator valve seal for damage. Replace the seal if necessary.

2. Install the camshaft position actuator valve.
3. Install the camshaft position actuator valve bolt.

NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Tighten the camshaft position actuator valve bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

4. Install the camshaft position actuator valve electrical connector.
5. Install the ECM bracket with the ECM.
