Carpet Retainer Replacement - Front

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover


Removal Procedure

1. Remove the rear carpet retainer from the vehicle. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement - Rear (Carpet Retainer Replacement - Rear).




2. Using a J 38778 release the retainer clips from the rocker panel.
3. Slide the garnish molding from behind the hood release cable on the driver's side.
4. Remove the front carpet retainer.
5. If the clips come out of the retainers, turn 90° in hole and lift out of the slot.



Installation Procedure





1. Slide the garnish molding behind the hood release cable on the driver's side.
2. Align the front carpet retainer with the slots in the rocker.
3. Pressing down, engage the retainers into the slots in the rocker panel.
4. Install the rear carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement - Rear (Carpet Retainer Replacement - Rear)
